Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng will travel to Stockholm next week for trade talks with the United States.
He will speak with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen about extending the deadline for a trade agreement. The vice premier also participated in trade talks with the US in London and Geneva earlier this year.
The negotiations in the Swedish capital will take place on Monday and Tuesday. According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, these talks must be conducted based on mutual respect.
China has until August 12 to reach an agreement to prevent US President Donald Trump from reimposing the high tariffs he imposed on China in April and May.
