Former Russian President Medvedev reminded US President Donald Trump on Thursday that Moscow still possesses Soviet-era nuclear weapons as a last resort.
Trump had previously told Medvedev to “watch his words.” This was in response to the former Russian president and prime minister’s statements that US sanctions would bring a war between Russia and the US closer.
“Tell Medvedev, the failed former president of Russia, who thinks he’s still president, to watch his words. He’s on very dangerous ground!” Trump wrote a new warning to President Vladimir Putin’s confidant.
On Tuesday, Trump said Russia had “10 days from today” to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine, or face sanctions against the country and its oil and gas buyers.
